Free online learning about Kids Helpline for teenagers

Recommended for all high school year levels. Maximum 50 students per session.

Students will learn:

  • what Kids Helpline is, and the different ways to get counselling  
  • the role of counsellors and how they help 
  • why young people contact Kids Helpline  
  • short- and long-term benefits of counselling 
  • debunking hurdles when asking for help 
  • help-seeking options and practical skills to seek help  
  • frequently asked questions about Kids Helpline

    Introduction (5 mins):

    • Interactive ice-breaker
    • Brief summary of Kids Helpline

    Presentation (30 mins)

    • Presentation of key content in your chosen topic/session, including coping strategies & support options
    • Interactive learning activities (group work, video watching, games, role playing, etc.)
    • Practical application of key strategies
    • Movement/interactive breaks included as needed

    Conclusion (5-10 mins)

    • Summary of session
