consent to participate

From Term 3 in 2023, parent/carer consent will be required for students to participate in Kids Helpline @ School sessions. This can take a few forms:
  • Use the global consent form signed at the start of the school year for activities deemed low risk by your school administrators; or
  • Seek specific consent for participation in Kids Helpline @ School sessions. We offer a parent consent form which provides an 'opt out' choice or you can create your own consent form.

You can indicate whether parental consent has been obtained at the point of booking, or you can tell the Kids Helpline @ School counsellor in the free pre-session consultation.

before your session

A pre-session consultation is included in your Kids Helpline @ School booking. This is an important opportunity for our team to meet with you and:
  • talk about how your students learn best
  • discuss any prior student learnings
  • inform us of any requirements to tailor or adjust the session, and
  • test and check technology to ensure a smooth run.

Please note, these sessions are an essential requirement of the program to ensure you get the most out of your booking.

after your session

From Term 3 in 2023, teachers can select a digital or hard copy student survey which will be sent following your session.

While these are not mandatory, they help us to learn more about how we can support schools and students and are gratefully received.
