Free online learning about internet safety for children
Recommended for all primary school year levels. Maximum 50 students per session.Students will learn:
- everyone has the right to feel safe at all times
- what online dangers are
- "gut feelings" for safety
- protective strategies for online safety ("OK activity")
- all about the eSafety website at eSafety.gov.au
Additional learning intentions for Grades 0-3:
- safe passwords and protecting personal information
- online stranger safety
- how kids can identify inappropriate and unsafe websites
Additional learning intentions for Grades 4-6:
- protecting personal information using privacy settings
- the importance of password safety
- how to identify unsafe websites and phishing/online scams

Introduction (5 mins):
- Interactive ice-breaker
- Brief summary of Kids Helpline
Presentation (30 mins)
- Presentation of key content in your chosen topic/session, including coping strategies & support options
- Interactive learning activities (group work, video watching, games, role playing, etc.)
- Practical application of key strategies
- Movement/interactive breaks included as needed
Conclusion (5-10 mins)
- Summary of session
- Group reflection
- Questions & answers
